Mushoku Tensei

I started Mushoku Tensei. I like it. It's a proper masculine story for once.
Rudy's relationship with his father is really well done and I'm it takes its time with each character which makes them all really likeable.
It reminds me of how masculine irrationality is so often either shied away from or shunned, even in anime.
Rudy says he likes his father because he is strong. Thoughts like this are an integral part of male decision making that is true and right, no matter how much you deny it.
Lust is shown in measure: both the good side of it and where the line is. Many anime instead have the sexual parts of their plots be incidental and not the fault/desire of the mc which is not at all how it works in reality. Measured lust is again an important part of masculinity.
My favourite scene so far is this little one where Rudy waves to a stranger, something he could never do in his past life. It oddly brought a tear to my eye.
He can only do it now because of his good parents and mentor. He now feels a part of the world again and is able to properly participate in it. We can only be a part of a world that we see as inherently good. In his past life Rudy saw the world as evil and so escaped from it.
Metaphysically I'd say he has moved from a gnostic view of reality (gnosis vs demiurge) to that of a fallen world (christ vs satan): The world itself is not evil, it is good that has been partially corrupted.
Which is why is is now happy. Gnosticism is retarded.

This should be the isekai that ends the isekai genre but it won't. It's still worth watching
